Maverick

At the end of 2020 (December 9, 2020), I discovered on-line that the LEGO Joker figure I had been using since 2015 to represent my Higher Self on my magical altar, originally was sold with two cards in hands. I had found this character in my kids LEGO bucket back then and had no idea that the cards even existed. One of the cards was the Ace of Spade, and the other one the Joker. I was intrigued and decided to order them on eBay.

A week later later (December 18), I received them and added them to my magical altar, excited to find out if anything would happen!

Nothing happened for seven months, as far as I could tell. But then in the summer of 2021 (July 20, 2021), I was sitting on the patio of a vacation condo we had rented by the beach, when I noticed something in the bushes near me: it was a card, face down. I got super-excited and went to retrieve it. To my immense surprise, it was a Joker card with a horse on it, with the name MAVERICK.

This rang many bells. It was a JOKER card, like my Higher Self. The horse itself was incredibly significant for me: indeed, in the past few years I had seen many horse shapes appear in nature around my house, and I had always been wondering WHAT all these horses were about. I will add some of those pictures later in this post to show you. And now I had found another horse in the bushes, this time on a card! I was speechless.

Also, intriguing, my cryptic friend had commented “MAVERICK” on pictures of a helicopter ride I had taken to the Grand Canyon two weeks earlier. Back then I had been puzzled by this comment because I did not know what it meant. So it was an additional surprise to see this name echo my friend’s mysterious comment, this time above the horse on a Joker card!

The next day, I was again sitting on the patio of our vacation condo when I spotted another card in the bushes, a couple feet away from where I had found the first one. It was another MAVERICK Joker card. Other vacationers must have recently thrown the two joker cards in their deck out of their balcony, and they had landed downstairs in the bushes, by our patio. Well, I sure was glad they had done so, in perfect timing with our arrival at the beach, because these two cards were highly meaningful to me.

Just before I spotted this second card, I had been staring at the bushes absentmindedly, reminiscing about how awesome the card find of the day before had been, when I noticed a dry leaf in the bushes that was shaped like a vague brown horse. It is literally seconds after that sight that I noticed the second card! There definitely WAS a magical horse involved, no doubt about it!

And so these two MAVERICK Joker cards have been on my magical altar since then: the two LEGO cards in the hands of my Joker LEGO figures were now reflected by two real Joker cards that the Universe had sent me. I had found them in the bushes like Easter eggs brought by the Easter Bunny. Fun fun!

I am still unsure what MAVERICK means exactly. For now I simply know it is important for me and possibly related to my cryptic friend. And as I described in the post entry titled “37”, the number 37 is MIGHTY important to me. It turns out that in reduced numerical values:

MAVERICK = 4+1+4+5+9+9+3+2 = 37

And now let me show you some of the many horse shapes that have appeared around my house in the past few years:
